Artist Statement

I am consumed by the need to create . . . . .

I am consumed by the need to create my art it is a conviction, a passion that comes from within. Making a connection between what I feel and what I see is a burning desire for me.

Landscapes are my true love and inspiration, the exclusive fleeting magic that is the movement of light across a landscape, which creates a tension between the dull and illuminated areas, the atmosphere and mood of the landscape and sky, these are the elements that I strive to capture in my art. Hooked by the elements and energized by the moment I will decide on a paintings composition and the techniques I will utilise to complete the work.
Throughout a paintings development and

up to it’s completion probing to introduce my own personal feelings to it’s completion probing to introduce my own personal feelings, endeavouring to put down what I feel.
Typically as for most artists I do not think I ever reach total satisfaction with most of my paintings. I hope from my paintings each person takes something a little different from the same image. Stirring the viewers mood and emotional state is my desire, engaging them to contemplate their own thoughts, feelings and associated memories, whatever the subject.
